PLACE | CHASING LIGHT
I have always loved and admired how the light floods the room in different forms and intensities. This led me to capture the light in various places around the house. The old farmhouse has plenty of windows, allowing sunlight in at all times. I focused mainly on the evening sun around 5 - 6PM to catch the long rays of light. The stunning golden light stretching across any surface it could touch allowed for the most mundane of items to be seen differently, as though they had been transformed. The photos show antique and modern, original and renovated, and tell a story about where the house has been and who has lived within it.
The Chasing Light photo series was awarded Judges Choice in the Fine Art category of the Anderson University Department of Art and Design 2020 Juried Student Exhibition + Competition.
